Conceptualising a realist model to evaluate benefits to developing communities through tourism

Tourism can contribute towards the alleviation of poverty although the context in which communities have benefitted from tourism remains globally debated. Applying a realist lens, this paper outlines a practical approach to examining how tourism interventions can be assessed in terms of their increase in benefits to developing communities through tourism.
