This paper presents an in-depth analysis of the application of information and communication technologies in organizational knowledge management initiatives implemented in the Global Most Admired Knowledge Enterprises (MAKE) award winners in 2004. The analysis is conducted along the three main dimensions including the type of knowledge objects incorporated, the ways that knowledge processes are supported, and the critical success factors for successfully implementing knowledge management projects. Some very interesting observations are made which are of practical significance to those organizations who plan to initiate knowledge management projects with the application of information and communication technologies in future.
