This chapter presents the case for consumer participation in the education of health care professionals and how the attitudes of professionals can be influenced by the active inclusion of consumers of health services in the education process. This chapter takes a very practical approach, describing an innovative and effective approach to capturing 'the voice of experience' as an integral part of the educational experience for mental health nurses with the powerful and valuable resource of a consumer academic.
