chapter
posted on 2019-04-09, 00:00 authored by Hilary WinchesterHilary Winchester
Traces a range of approaches to the study of counterurbanization and relates them both to France as a whole and to the departement of Isere, surrounding the city of Grenoble in SE France. The process of rural revival in the Isere is related to the quality of the environment which has attracted a large number of mobile commuters and owners of second homes, resulting in a diffuse pattern of functional urbanization. -H.Clout
