Sexuality and sexual health: Professional issues for nurses

The current literature indicates that health professionals including nursing students require specific knowledge in the area of sexuality and sexual health to be able to provide holistic and effective care (Blakey & Aveyard, 2017). This chapter offers an overview of issues related to sexuality, sexual health and sexual violence along with some practice considerations and strategies to promote sexual health for patients with whom nurses interact using the example of sexual minorities.
