Science is innovation and innovation is the future

chapter

Teaching and learning does not occur in a vacuum. Both teachers and learners bring to the learning environment normal human behaviours. Increasingly, both groups are challenged by the gloablisation of information exchange. In this chapter we review first the new “global” environment and its consequences and then evaluate the work reported in this book in that context. We conclude with a call for the development of a real science of education and suggest how that might best be achieved.
