chapter
posted on 2021-05-04, 22:41 authored by Firoz Alam, Quamrul AlamQuamrul Alam
Underutilized regional hydro resources can play an important role in power production by supplying clean energy, reducing dependence on imported fossil fuels if adequate measures are taken to mitigate environmental and ecological impacts of hydropower plants. This chapter discusses the present state of power generation by energy type and examines how production of power using hydro energy can make South Asia (i.e., SAARC) a clean energy hub.
