Learning management and assessment
chapter
posted on 2017-12-06, 00:00 authored by Susan DavisSusan Davis, Joanne DarguschJoanne DarguschAssessment processes are central to the Learning Design Process and the enactment of the 8 Learning Management Questions. Assessment is particularly relevant to the 'Ascertainment Phase' of the Learning Design Process whereby the learning manager 'ascertains' and reports on learner acheivement. These processes are commonly referred to as 'assessment and reporting'. In this chapter key terms and processes involved in the assessment of learning in the 'schooling' context are outlined and explained. A key focus is the importance of assessment practices aligning with curriculum intent and pedagogy as learning managers consider the design and sequence of a learning program.
