Chapter 2 of the book "Resistance & Representation" is presented. It explores the significance of three dominant images of childhood including innocence of a child, threats posed by a child and child as embryo adult. It highlights the implications of the three themes for the child and for the early childhood educator. It also suggests strategic activities for interrupting the dominant images which include teaching, advocacy and research.
