Angels in the media : constructing outlaw motorcyclists

chapter
posted on 2017-12-06, 00:00 authored by Errol Estate Of Vieth
"Bikies! The sound of a loud motocycle, especially the potato-potato exhaust rumble of a lightly- or un-muffled Harley-Davidson, singly or multiplied within a group, has different effects on different people, ranging from a kind of admiration throught to an undefined fear. It would not stretch the bounds of credulity to say that few people remain unaffected by the sight of bikies en masse and the sound of their motorcycles. ... Do motorcyclists deserve this image? Are these narratives accurate?"
