Intellectual Capital has a direct influence on how business processes and procedures are conducted within an organization and it can have a direct transactional value in the form of 'goodwill' when companies are traded or valued. To value IC it is necessary to measure some of the more important parameters of IC that will require the organization to be redefined from a transdisciplinary perspective that encompasses Business Management, Integrated Logistics Support and Information Technology in order to identify the interconnectivity of the processes. The elements of IC considered most important to organizations can be surveyed to support the hypothesis that competitive advantage is gained through the collective experience of employees and how the IC can be harnessed through effective policies and processes.
