Vol. 1 summarises the key findings of a study conducted in 2003 and 2004 that provides a snapshot of the organic industry at this time. It is designed to provide general information to current and prospective producers, processors, distributors, exporters, retailers, consumers, certifying organisations, industry associations and others interested in the organic industry.The Australian Government Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry commissioned the study to help remedy the lack of data available on the organic industry.The key findings of a study conducted in 2003 and 2004 that provides a snapshot of the organic industry at this time.
