Introduction to the selection of engineering materials

This book aims to develop in its reader an awareness of the range of materials of modern technology, with their principal properties and applications, and a feel for the selection of materials. It is comprehensive in scope, covering all types and classes of material, and the text is easily readable and up to date. Quantitative data have been kept to a minimum, but references to sources are included, with several tables. Electrical engineering materials are included, and a guide for literature searches is given as an appendix. Written for advanced undergraduates, the book should prove invaluable for new graduates beginning careers in engineering.
